Note to add: This message was first sent out on our communications app. If you are a Hamer Elementary Parent/Guardian and did not get the alert on your phone, please contact our Technology Supervisor, Jon Reyna, (reynaj@wjsd.org) to get your phone set up to receive Urgent Announcements.

PICTURE DAY - Tuesday, August 29th for Terreton Elementary, WJ Junior HIgh, WJ High School, and Staff
We are using a new photographer this year! We are excited to have Josh Petersen Photography here to take school photos.
See the attached image for pricing information.
Please note: The order form says that you need to order a package in order to purchase add-ons. After clarification from the photographer, you can buy items off the add-ons list WITHOUT purchasing a package. Just indicate that on the form. Also, if you have more than one child, you can write one check for all children, just write it on the order form. The more you communicate, the less confusion.
Any questions can be sent to info@joshpetersen.com.
Sports photos WILL NOT be taken on this day and will be scheduled at a later date.

Bus message for parents and students using the bus stop near Sage Junction.
If parents are not at the bus stop on time in the morning, they will need to drive their kids to school.
If parents are not at the bus stop in the afternoon, Nyla would need to keep the students on the bus and meet the parents somewhere else on the route.

West Jefferson High School and Jr. High:
Monday will have a shortened class schedule to give secondary students a chance to meet teachers, get information on their classes, have time to reconnect with each other, and meet new classmates.
Each school will be having an assembly, doing an activity in the gym, and having some water activities on the hill.
The high school and junior high will be doing similar things, but will be at different times.
Come dressed for school and bring modest swimwear and a towel for the water activities.
Welcome back! We can't wait to start a great year!

Here is the August Lunch Menu! Be sure to check the "Dining" section on our School App for the daily Breakfast and Lunch Menus. Our Child Nutrition Staff will try to keep the app updated if they have any changes to their menu.

One more push for REGISTRATION. We are only a few days away from school starting and we still have many families who have not done anything for registration. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Please look over the checklists to make sure your students are ready for Monday!
Here is in-depth information about the items on the checklists:
All families should have had a parent login to PowerSchool and submit the enrollment forms for each of their children. They need a 2023 date on them to be counted for this year.
https://wjsd.powerschool.com/public/home.html
After logging in, click on "Forms" and "Enrollment Forms"
If your online forms have been submitted, there will be a green circle with a submitted check mark next to them, but you need to check the date under each section to make sure it was submitted in 2023. If it has last year's date on it, you need to click on the blue form title, look over the form to make sure everything is still accurate, and click "Submit." There are a few sections (F, G & H) that are only for Brand New Students."
All Students, grades 6-12 need to log in to their own PowerSchool account and check their class schedule. After they log in, they need to click on "My Schedule" and then "Matrix View." They need to check that all of their class periods are filled with colored blocks. (If there is a white block, that means they were not assigned a class and they need to contact Mr. Gemar.) They also need to look through their core classes and electives to make sure they have what they need/want on their schedule. If they are missing anything, they need to contact Mr. Gemar. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!
davidgemar@wjsd.org or 208-663-4391
Fees can be paid in person with cash or check. (Please DO NOT PAY THE MORNING OF THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! It's too busy in the school offices that first morning to be taking payments with a line of people needing help.) If you would like to pay with a credit card or debit card, parents can log in to their parent PowerSchool account and go to "Balances." From there, click on "Make a Payment." That will take you to the WJ Web Store. You can "Add to Cart" whatever fees you need to pay. For using the online payment option, there will be a convenience fee of approximately 4% added to your total.
Free and Reduced Price Meals:
*In order to qualify for FREE or Reduced Price Meals, parents/guardians MUST fill out a Free and Reduced Meals Application EVERY SCHOOL YEAR. If no application is received, the full price for meals will be charged.
Online Free and Reduced Price Meals application link: https://www.nlappscloud.com/
Meal price information here: https://www.wjsd.org/o/wjsd/page/child-nutrition-department.
